Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Families are defined within a household. A household consists of all persons who share the same address with no regards to other
possible relationships between them.

The composition of a family is determined by the relationship between the residents of the same household. A family thus comprises of one or more
persons in a household that can be linked to each other through marriage, parenthood or kinship. A household may consist of several families, but
families can in reverse not have members from more than one household.
A family consists of one or more persons who live in the same registered address. A family consists of a single person or a couple with or
without children. A family includes, in some cases all persons in a household, while other households divided into several families.
Registetred partners are not calculated separately, and are calculated as married.

An address can comprise a conventional dwelling or institutions such as colleges, retirement homes and orphanages. In addition to ordinary housing and institutions some addresses are used administratively to register non-residents. This to register homeless, persons working on ships or staff at stations.

Families can be divided into three main types:
1. Couples
2. Singles
3. Child below 18 years not living with parents.

For couples and singles a family can consist of one or more children (0-17 years) or youth living at home (18-24 years).
A family consists of no more than two generations. If three generations living together, it will be counted as two or more families.
