With reference to a Lexis schema, the death rates are calculated by age and calendar year. This method places fewest restrictions on the data required and the mean lifeexpectancies are calculated on 2-year periods from 1977/78 and onwards.
In addition to gender, the calculations have also been carried out by birthplace and type of residence, just as calculations have been carried out for men and women in total.
Calculations based on experiences from 2 years are due to the size of the population affected by random calendar effects. These effects are reduced by calculating for 5-year periods. See table BEEDT5A

age

Age is here to be understood in the meaning of remaining life expectancy in age x. Life expectancy is thus remaining lifetime at birth, ie age 0
